The National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show 2016 in Chicago was a hit! Revel was in a beautiful booth about the size of Rhode Island and had a packed schedule of activities. During the major 4-day event, 63,000+ foodservice pros gathered to try out new equipment, taste yummy food, discover the latest emerging trends, and have some fun! The Revel booth was bustling with foot traffic. Attendees came to see the famous Robert Irvine, try out demos, meet the Revel team and grab some yummy treats provided by Cinnabon. If you weren’t able to attend the show, no worries! We got you covered with our NRA Show 2016 key highlights and takeaways.

According to BikeGeeky, a major hot topic at NRA this year was around mobile order takers. Restaurateurs couldn’t stop asking about how they work and wanted to see more. Mobile order takers are a fun, new way to enhance the dining experience, while improving efficiency and communication from the floor to the kitchen. Another strong conversation held throughout NRA was around EMV and chip technology. Revel’s Point of Sale is EMV compliant and attendees enjoyed learning more about how Revel is at the forefront of Point of Sale security. Revel’s mobile ordering app especially hit home for those working in the quick service industry - mobile ordering is a nice way for quick service establishments to accelerate speed of service and increase sales by allowing customers to order ahead and cut lines. And of course, the Revel kiosk gathered some note-worthy buzz. Attendees had fun playing with the interactive kiosk in Revel’s booth and trying it themselves. Every type of foodservice business can benefit from a kiosk as an added business revenue generator and it was fun for everyone to see it in action.

Did somebody say “Robert Irvine”?

Yes! Renowned chef and host of one of Food Network’s highest rated shows Restaurant: Impossible, Chef Robert Irvine, was at Revel’s booth during NRA. Attendees were flocking to Irvine to get signed copies of his book Fit Fuel: A Chef’s Guide to Eating Well and Living Your Best Life. Even Foodable TV showed up and interviewed Irvine about why he is a fan of Revel Systems. Irvine had nothing but praise and good things to say about Revel’s advanced Point of Sale technology and emphasized his love for the reporting feature.

Mmm, we smell Cinnabons

Major Revel customer, Cinnabon, was at NRA giving out delicious treats. From Cinnabon cereal to Cinnabon bites, people couldn’t get enough of them at Revel’s booth. So good in fact that Cinnabon ended up giving out over 4,000 treats in 4 days alone!

Joe Guith, President of Cinnabon, also led an education session titled On the Rise: Cinnabon’s Progressive Point of Sale at NRA. During his session, Guith shared how the Point of Sale experience is critical for protecting consumer data during transactions. He emphasized how Revel’s iPad Point of Sale technology is taking Cinnabon to the next level and improving the customer experience at their bakeries across the United States. He even dove into how easy it is for Cinnabon employees to learn the system - so easy that they are trained within minutes. Cinnabon franchises all over the world are adopting Revel and it’s because it’s truly an all-in-one solution catering to Cinnabon’s biggest needs: Modern and easy to use, QuickBooks integration, backend reporting, and top of the line security.

It is safe to say Revel at NRA Show 2016 was a huge success! We want to thank everyone who came by our booth and we already can’t wait for NRA 2017.
