Tech Tip of the Week

Hello again everyone. Since it is Friday, we have another helpful Tech Tip for you, and we think this is the most useful Tech Tip yet. Did you know that every Revel iPad POS comes with Revel's Diagnostic Tool to assist with issues or technical support issues that may arise?

Too access the tool, all you need to do is simply double tap the Revel Systems logo on the login screen. After you have double tapped the logo, a popup will appear. To proceed you will select "Diagnostic" on the popup, and the system will begin running the Revel Diagnostics Tool. This option can be run on each separate POS station you may have.

This is the screen you first encounter when you launch the Revel Diagnostics Tool, and it gives you an information snapshot of the system itself. At the top of the window, you can see there are options for "Devices," "POS Stations," and "Connections."

The "Devices" button will show you the status of your peripherals (printers, scanners, etc). On the example above, the "Devices" button has a red number in a circle attached to it. This is an example of issues occurring that the Diagnostics Tool has identified, and it is indicating that peripherals may be having approximately 5 errors that it has identified.

The "POS Stations" button will show you all the POS systems you have and their syncing status with the main system.

The "Connections" tab will show you all the networking information for your system, including the system connection status with the Internet.

You can also tap the "Support" support button right from the same window, and get information on how to call for support or submit a ticket directly from the iPad using the Submit Ticket button. When a ticket is submitted directly from the iPad, support will generally reach out within an hour or less.

This tool is extremely useful when trying to troubleshoot any issues you may be having, and is also valuable to our support team when trying to assist you as well. Next time you are on your system, try it out and see how easy it is to access.

As always, be sure to keep your browsers on #RevelNation and all our social media to read more Tech Tips every Friday!
