With summer comes some great things: picking strawberries, trips to the beach, waterparks - you name it and summer probably has it. One of the best things summer has to offer, however, is the many music festivals taking place across the country. No matter where you live there is an exciting music festival ready for you to witness it. In case you haven’t gotten your summer fix of music just yet, here are some great festivals happening at the end of the summer that you won’t want to miss.
Lollapalooza
Started in 1991, the festival ran until 1997 and was revived in 2003. Each year the music festival hosts more than 160,000 and features music from popular hip hop, punk rock, heavy metal, and alternative rock bands. Between downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan, Lollapalooza offers 3 days of music on August 1-3. This year the lineup features Eminem, Kings of Leon, Calvin Harris, and Lorde.
Arise Music Festival
This unique festival offers much more than just music. Sunrise Ranch in Colorado from August 8-10 transforms into 3 days of music and yoga with the hopes of creating a community experience. Theme camps allow different sections of the creative community to come together to share and inspire throughout the weekend.
Outside Lands
San Francisco’s eco-friendly music festival celebrates everything great about the bay area August 8-10. The lineup this year includes Kanye West, The Killers, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Tiesto. Started in 2008 Outside Lands hosts between 40,000 to 60,000 people a day.
Electric Zoo
New York City during Labor Day weekend is the location of this exciting electronic music festival. David Guetta, Zedd, and Nicky Romero are just some of the headliners this year. Electric Zoo started in 2009 and had 26,000 people attend. This festival has even received International Dance Music Awards nominations for the “Best Music Event”
Running one of these festivals can be extremely challenging, between balancing the number of people, food, and artists it is no easy feat. However, with Revel’s Events POS you can manage the event with a breeze and even enjoy it a bit! Revel is one of the few systems that is easy to set up from a technical standpoint, but also robust enough to handle the high volumes of transactions required from the crowds. In the off chance that your connection would be lost due to being outside, Revel’s Always On Mode enables you to keep the line moving until connectivity is restored - you will never lose a sale. Revel recently improved operations at the Electric Daisy Festival and a Revel client was featured at Coachella. This iPad POS system will give you the power to run any music festival with the efficiency it deserves.
