Revel Enters 2020 with Strong Market Position

Early Vision

Last year Revel Systems maintained a focus on strong market position. A quick look at the company's history reveals how the POS provider climbed to that position in the first place.

In 2010, Revel changed how people think about the point of sale (POS). The company introduced the first cloud-based iPad POS. Why couldn’t a POS be an elegant piece of technology? Revel challenged the status quo, offering a platform that connects all parts of merchant operations. An added bonus, the platform also significantly improves customer experience. Revel’s platform is a sleek, all-in-one solution.

Since its founding, Revel Systems amassed a strong portfolio of clients. Operators turning to Revel wanted to be on the cutting edge of retail and restaurant technology. As cloud solutions gradually entered the mainstream, Revel successfully transitioned leading brands such as Cinnabon, Garrett Popcorn Shops, The Halal Guys, Russian River Brewing, Auntie Anne’s and dozens others from legacy systems to the cloud. Cloud POS is rapidly becoming the de facto standard. Revel is well positioned as the leading solution for multi-location restaurants and retailers.

Focus on Strong Market Position

Revel spent 2019 strategically adapting to changing market conditions. The POS provider introduced new solutions, grew its employee base, implemented new services offerings, and expanded its partner network.

Platform Diversification

In 2019, Revel embraced a significant diversification in its solution offerings. Last year’s expanded product line included Revel Enterprise, designed to meet the needs of multi-location or chain businesses with 20 or more locations. Another addition was Revel Essentials for restaurants or retailers with 20 or fewer locations. A customized Revel Pizza solution was designed for pizzeria owners. This solution offers advanced delivery management and new functionality for complex pizza orders.

Expanded Workforce

With a focus on company growth and increased customer service capabilities, Revel expanded its worldwide employees by 70 percent in 2019. The company plans to further expand its global workforce this year.

Since opening a major office in Atlanta in 2018, Revel has invested in the city’s technology industry and local community. The company has also continued a strong recruitment drive for tech talent in the region. Revel made Atlanta’s “Best Places to Work” list in the 2019 Atlanta Business Chronicle's annual ranking of 100 metro area companies.

Concierge Services & Partner Initiatives

With the breakneck speed of technology development, busy merchants don’t have time to fully realize the value of their technology investments. In 2019, Revel Concierge Services addressed this gap. These services help maximize the revenue potential of the Revel Essentials and Revel Enterprise POS systems. This new offering helps businesses strategically manage their growth, and optionally outsource their POS administration.

Revel Integrated transformed Revel’s partner network this year with a set of advanced developer tools and a go-to-market infrastructure. Current integration partners include Como, Deputy, and 7shifts. In addition, the Revel Solution Partner program introduced a new initiative to increase Revel’s sales reach and provide local, on-the-ground resources in more markets.

 Looking Forward

On the heels of a landmark year in 2019, Revel has big plans in store for 2020. Now one of the more experienced players in the cloud-based POS market, the company is poised to address the needs and pain points of customers while offering unrivaled service. Technological evolution isn't slowing down anytime soon, and Revel is prepared to meet the ever-changing needs of its clients.
